GT Pie Company Unveils Pure Michigan Getaway Contest

Grand Traverse Pie Company Unveils

First Ever ‘Pure Michigan Up North Getaway’ Giveaway – a $3,000 Value

(Traverse City, MI) September 7, 2012 – To celebrate the harvest season throughout the Midwest, Grand Traverse Pie Company will award one lucky winner a ‘Pure Michigan Up North Getaway’ valued at $3,000.

The harvest season in northern Michigan is truly PURE MICHIGAN – one not to be missed.  The Grand Traverse Region is a land of bounty that goes far beyond its cherries.  Grand Traverse is place where rolling hills shelter and nurture strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peaches, and apples.  One lucky winner will experience first-hand the autumn harvest of Michigan apples and even grapes which are produced for the award winning wines of the region.

The ‘Up North Getaway’ FOR TWO PEOPLE will include round trip air service to Traverse City, Michigan (TVC); a two night stay in the heart of downtown Traverse City, Michigan at the Historic Park Place Hotel; a hands on pie experience with GT Pie Company’s Co-Founders Mike and Denise Busley; a private wine tasting hosted by Chateau Chantal’s Marie-Chantal Dalese; Movie tickets for a show at the City’s Historic  State Theatre, located just steps away from the Park Place and Grand Traverse Pie Company’s newest downtown location; and a Harvest Dinner for two at Traverse City’s  downtown bistro Amical.  Topping it all off, the winner will also receive ‘Pie for a Year’ – a variety of featured pies shipped directly to the winner each month!  The giveaway package is valued at $3,000.

Harvest season is the perfect time to enjoy a slice of handcrafted pie, one neatly and deliciously packaged in a flaky crust, or a delicious meal; breakfast, lunch, or supper.  There’s even seasonal menu offerings that visitors to any Grand Traverse Pie shop will enjoy.

Grand Traverse Pie Company is committed to celebrating Michigan. GTPC makes over 95% of its purchases from Michigan companies and promotes two of the State’s key ingredients – agriculture and commerce.  Michigan fruit (cherries, apples, and blueberries), sugar, and flour all come from our State’s growers and processors, and GT Pie will drive nearly $20 million into the Michigan economy this year.

Love, love, love Traverse City. Can’t wait to taste the chicken pot pie and cherry pie at Grand Traverse Pie company then shop in downtown TC. Living in Florida, as I currently do, means missing out on fall leaves and fresh, natural apple cider…a feast for the eyes and the palate! Michigan wines can compete with any region of the world and I am especially fond of late harvest reisling produced in this area. But most of all I look forwards to waking up where I can say “good morning,Grand Traverse Bay!” Is it O.K. to have pie for breakfast?

First of all I am a True Blue Michigan FAN, as in the State of Michigan. I love everything about this Great Lake State! I support our farmers through purchase of homegrown fruits, vegetables and grains. Michigan farmers are some of the most genuine loving people I have ever met. I am also a supporter of Michigan wines and purchase only wines made in Michigan as gifts for others. Grand Traverse Pies are often times included in the gift packages I assemble for friends and families as a way to say, “hey Michigan has it goin on!”….Thanks for baking pies with the best wholesome antioxidants….Peace to Pie Bakers,
    Debra, RN

  10. There’s no place like…Michigan in autumn. Glorious colors, sunny days, and crisp nights.
