Grand Traverse Pie Company will celebrate the delicious comforts of PIE during National Pie Day on Thursday, January 23, 2014. National Pie Day was created by the American Pie Council. As part of our American heritage, this day is a perfect opportunity to pass on the comforts of pie and celebrate one of America’s favorite foods – Pie.
Each Grand Traverse Pie Company location will be serving up a FREE SLICE of Michigan fruit pie with any purchase all day on ‘Pie Day.’
“We are PIE people and we’re proud to serve the delicious comforts of fruit pie for National Pie Day in each of our community Pie Shops. Pie is meant for sharing. Pie connects people. Pie makes people happy. And happy people make the world a better place. That’s why the world needs more pie.” stated Mike Busley, founder of Grand Traverse Pie Company (GTPC).
This year, to celebrate, Grand Traverse Pie Company will also be offering double points for all members of their Pie Dough Club rewards program. This is a perfect chance to try one of the Fresh and Fit Favorites Seasonal Menu items. Each one of these selections is made to order with wholesome ingredients and all less than 500 calories. Double points to earn Pie Dough Bucks all for making smart choices in the New Year!
The Grand Traverse Pie Company offers 30 varieties of hand-crafted pie. In fact, every GT Pie Company location has on-site bakers, delivering the made-from-scratch, just baked taste of pie each and every day. Every pie is made with Michigan fruit and ingredients – all wrapped in its melt-in-your-mouth crust.
In fact the pie has received many accolades, including Michigan’s favorite celebrity chef, Mario Batali. “I don’t think I’ve ever had as good a pie as Grand Traverse Pie Company’s Cherry Crumb Pie…It’s a religious experience.” To share your experience with pie, Grand Traverse Pie Company encourages people to take pictures of their National Pie Day pie eating fun and post at #pielove.
The GTPC makes over 95% of its purchases from Michigan companies and promotes two of the State’s key ingredients- agriculture and commerce. Michigan fruit (apples, blueberries and cherries) sugar and flour all come from our State’s growers and processors, and GT Pie will drive nearly $20 million into Michigan’s economy this year.
