Gluten Free at GT Pie Testimonial

We love hearing from our pie shop guests, especially when we introduce new products. In September we added a new line of gluten-free pies and baked goods.

We are thrilled to have received this email from a customer in the Lansing area.

I have been a fan of GTP since it first opened in East Lansing and Okemos. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease three years ago, and had to stop eating wheat. Having not eaten at GTP in years, I recently I found out you are offering gluten free menu items, and tried my old favorite sandwich (Lighthouse Turkey) on GF bread a few times. Yesterday was my birthday, so I decided on GTP for lunch so that I could have a dessert. It was the first time I tried your GF pie–Chocolate Cream and was just amazed! SO DELICIOUS! Honestly, it was one of the best desserts I’ve had in the three years since my diagnosis. I want to thank you for working so hard to make gluten free delicious! I know from personal experience that it is very difficult to work with the GF texture and taste. I have tried all kinds of GF goodies from all over, and this was by far one of the best. My parents shared my pie (they can eat wheat) and they really liked it as well. The shortbread crust was amazing. Thank you so much! – Ellen

Ellen went on to say, “I can’t tell you how tired I am of salads and bread-less sandwiches!  Being able to order a GF “normal” sandwich and dessert (especially one tastes good!!) is almost unheard of in the Lansing area.”

Thank you so much for your email, Ellen! We are very excited to offer gluten-free pies, baked goods, and breads at all of our Grand Traverse Pie Company locations.

I am so happy to be able to eat gluten free at GTP! I had the strawberry fields salad with a slice of bread yesterday. It was very good. Next time, I will ask if the bread could be warmed.
Thank you for continuing to add more gf items.

  2. Just found you through a USAT piece on Pi Day. I’m from Chicago originally, love Midwest cherry pie – but I’m gluten-free. (actually grain-free but I make rare exceptions for treats a few times a year) Imagine my surprise in finding you make GF treats! The question is, which ones do you ship? I live near DC.

    1. Erin says:

Hello! We are so happy that you found us! We offer our gluten-free pies in the mini 6″ size and we can definitely ship to you in DC. Currently we have our gluten-free apple crumb and gluten-free cherry crumb available for shipping. Unfortunately we can only ship these in a package of 3. However, you can easily freeze them and thaw them later and they are just as yummy. You can order directly at shop.gtpie.com/category/mini_fruit_pies or call us with any questions! 866.444.7437

      Thank you! – Erin 🙂

Hi I’m gluten free and love your GF pies. Just wondering what the ingredients and nutritional information is. Can someone tell me where to find this info. Thanks!

    1. Erin says:

Hi Terry, thanks for your question! Love to hear that you enjoy the gluten-free options. Each of our menu pages on our website has a link at the bottom for the list of ingredients and nutrition informational guide. It’s best if viewed on a computer vs. a mobile device since each PDF is quite long. Please let us know if you have any questions!

I noticed on your gluten free pie ingredient label says may contain wheat?

    1. Erin says:

Hi Cheri, thank you for your excellent question. We are required to add that phrase since we are not a wheat-free facility. “Gluten-Free” at GT Pie follows the FDA regulation of less than 20 parts per million.

I could not find the ingredients for the candied pecans on the download. Had the strawberry fields salad and trying to narrow down something i might have eaten.

    1. Erin says:

Hi Lau, the cinnamon roasted pecans contain: pecans, egg white, water, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
