Service members to receive free pie at Plymouth and Troy locations
Good Things Start With Pie – Help us help servicemen and women who are serving our country
The servicemen and women of our country make huge sacrifices to fight battles on our behalf and keep the freedom we hold dear. One of those sacrifices is being away from their families and loved ones for long periods of time. The only thing that makes this sacrifice bearable for most is the incredible sweetness of coming home, even if it is only for a short leave. Welcoming a soldier home from deployment can bring on a ton of emotions. The most important element of the homecoming is ensuring the soldier is comfortable by making things as normal as possible.
Since 2011, Michigan Freedom Center at Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s McNamara Terminal have provided a world-class reception and hospitality lounge that have greeted and met the needs of more than 80,000 in-transit military service members and their families. In addition, the center welcomes military cadets and veterans.
