Pure Michigan Fresh Coast Pie is Here!
April 9, 2026
(Traverse City, MI) – Grand Traverse Pie Company and Pure Michigan are teaming up to celebrate Michigan tourism and agriculture with a specially crafted pie made with Michigan-grown fruit called Fresh Coast Pie.
Pure Michigan Fresh Coast Pie is a celebration of Michigan fruit at its best. Made with Michigan-grown Montmorency tart cherries from Sayler Orchards in Traverse City, Northern Spy apples from Amos Orchards in Williamsburg, and Rubel blueberries from True Blue Farms in Grand Junction, this pie brings together bright cherry tartness, classic apple depth, and rich blueberry flavor in one signature crumb pie. Created in celebration of Pure Michigan’s 20th anniversary, it captures the flavor of Michigan in every slice.
Finished with our Fresh Coast Oat Crumb Topping, it delivers warmth, texture, and a distinctly handcrafted finish, with a lightly sweet, gently spiced layer that complements the Michigan fruit beautifully. The result is a pie that feels rooted in Michigan from top to bottom – familiar, memorable, and unmistakably Grand Traverse Pie Company.
“Michigan’s farms are part of a proud agricultural heritage that has established Michigan as one of the country’s top culinary and agritourism destinations,” said Kelly Wolgamott, Vice President of Pure Michigan, part of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. “The delicious combination of fruits and flavors in Fresh Coast Pie is an incredible way to celebrate Michigan farmers and the spring and summer seasons in Pure Michigan.”
The exclusive pie partnership between Grand Traverse Pie Company and Pure Michigan will again spotlight the importance of early childhood development by supporting initiatives at MI Kids Matter.
“Our Michigan growers NURTURE each apple, blueberry, and cherry that go into our pies. Caring for fruit early on leads to a better pie…just like NURTURING each child leads to greater outcome, stronger humans and greater success later in life,” noted GT Pie Company’s Co-founders Mike and Denise Busley.
Mi Kids Matter is a place to find what parents and families need to give their child their best chance at health, happiness, and success later in life.
Mi Kids Matter is a resource from the Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential Office of Great Start. More information can be found at MiLEAP’s website www.Michigan.gov/MiKidsMatter.
“This is this is the third year of a relationship between Grand Traverse Pie, Pure Michigan, and the folks at Mi Kids Matter. Grand Traverse Pie is honored to be aligned with these vital organizations and the hardworking growers and processors of our great state. We call it “The Power of Pie!”, said Busley.
“Grand Traverse Pie company is a family-owned business that has been warming hearts in Michigan communities and beyond for 30 years. We are proud to be part of this collaboration that will bring another delicious treat to Michiganders and visitors this spring and summer,” said Wolgamott.
The Pure Michigan Fresh Coast Pie will be available April 7 through September. It will be sold in both 6-inch and 9-inch sizes in all of the GT Pie locations.
