(Traverse City, MI) – Grand Traverse Pie Company will celebrate Moms all week long beginning Monday, May 7th through Sunday, May 13th, Mother’s Day. Treat mom to lunch or dinner at the Pie Company and the GT Pie team will honor her with a complementary piece of pie. When moms visit any Grand Traverse Pie location during the week, they’ll receive a Free Slice of Pie of their choice with their purchase.

GT Pie Company is celebrating Moms and the fruits of springtime with its Pie of the Month feature for May – Strawberry Rhubarb. In the United States, Mother’s Day started nearly 150 years ago, when Anna Jarvis, an Appalachian homemaker, organized a day to raise awareness of poor health conditions in her community, a cause she believed would be best advocated by mothers. She called it “Mother’s Work Day.”
The second Sunday in May has become the most popular day of the year to dine out, and telephone lines record their highest traffic, as sons and daughters everywhere take advantage of this day to honor and to express appreciation to their mothers.
